Frog ate Dinosaur eggs

huge frog

Some 70 million years ago a giant frog made life hard for lizards, bugs and possibly even dinosaur eggs at Madagaskar on Africas east coast. British and American researchers has a report on their fossil findings in Pnas . They´ve named it Beelzebufo (Devils frog). It weighs about 8 pounds and were about the size of a squashed bowling ball. Closest living relatives are supposedly the South American horn toad which supports the theory that Madagaskar, India and South America were connected at the time when Dinosaurs roamed the streets.

Weird thing is I could have sworn it was only recently I met a fellow Beelzebufo, she was the maître d at a swanky restaurant.
