Blogging is a difficult task at times. Not only do you need a good topic or a catchy angle, you need to spell right and display cool graphics. When I was on LJ many moons ago, I used Xjournal as a help. It was good to be able to start drafts of posts even when not being able to be online and so on. Since switching to WordPress and my own domain I´ve only used the the online editor and even though good, it does have a few limitations.

With ecto perhaps some of my typos will be more easily detected.

It´s fun days over at Dave at blogography and his Blogiversary 5. I´m impressed about the amount of work he puts into his blog and the generosity he gives out to his avid fans.

The Tindersticks are playing tomorrow at Debaser and I think I will go there and listen to them. Seems like I have to go alone because no one either wants or can go with me tomorrow *sobs*

I´m kind of stoked about The Gutter Twins but then again I´ve always been a fan of Mark Lanegan.

Browsing through Lightroom today made me stumble across this image taken in Helsinki 2 years ago. I like how that stocky concrete building were deceited by the light. It looks like a see thru tent at the bottom.

I just upgraded WordPress to 2.5 and it went well. No mishaps. Go me! The interface is much better to work with but the colors are vicious. Things are screaming baby blue with a dash of pink and grey. What´s with that? It´ll be fun to get into this, I´m more reluctant about blogging than actual interface design, not sure if I have anything to say really. But, Hey, that´s not too important all the time, is it :-)

Been dealing a lot with carpenters and electricians and such lately and a lot of these people are sooo good at what they do but some of them leaves me feeling I should educate them some. Why is it that because times are still good here and there´s a shortage of good craftsmen that some of them feel the need to become total assholes? Seriously! If you don´t really know what you talk about taking an asshole stance is kind of degrading. I try to be humble and polite but that doesn´t mean my face was meant to sit on. Do not go bonkers with the quotations, there might come a day when jobs will be harder to find and having happy customers will help. It´s also easier to double your quotations if you are the best rather than using terms that don´t exist in the real world in order to appear smart. Just proofs you´re up shit creek. I´m just saying.

Am residing at Värmdö tonite. Tomorrow morning a cabinet is arriving. It´s quiet, I´m all alone and it´s soothing. Just like the buddha figure above or Bart as a preacher on TV in the background :-)

Edit. Dammit, I sound like an angry whiny bitch all the time. Bribes in the pipeline for anyone who says I don´t.

My back decided a while ago to turn into a natural disaster area. Like it´s pay back time for being tall or something. I like walking or lying down but sitting is just not that comfortable as of lately. Finally after seeing a chiropractor a few times which did me no good I went to the doctor who imediately sent me to get X-rays of my back. I was shipped to the emergency X-ray room at a nearby hospital.

And here´s my question. Why do people who hate their jobs and lives decide to stay at their jobs? Try and do something else or something about it. Honestly. Yes, I know it´s easier said than done perhaps, but still. I don´t need to hear about how awful it is that I show up at an emergency facilitity when I need to have 20/30 X-rays taken. And after that rant she went on about how my back was crooked, long and difficult to X-ray, at which point I lost it a bit and looked up at her prune face and said. Look, I´m here because I am in great pain. Maybe her mission is to get revenge. Revenge because her life sucks and therefore every one elses should too? I dunno.

A few nights earlier I had watched this guy talk about how you should leave bad energy where it´s at and not take it in. It was not like he brought any real news around but he delivered them in a newish way. Strange dude but very cool. I almost succeeded in leaving the bad energy with prunella at the X-raiser.

Last night I had tickets to go see Bajofondo. It took some effort but it was worth it. Their albums are good but live they´re magnificent. Catch their show if you can. You should have catched mine going there, my friends tells me I moved with dignity in a Lurch kind of way.

I´m up north skiing and recreating a bit. Some work too though. Took about a gazillion photos but left my chords at home so I can´t download and process them, dammit. It was supposed to be snow storms up here but so far it´s crystal clear, bright blue skies and a few below zero. Perfect for skiing. Went to get me some ski wax yesterday but it turned out to be a difficult task. There are about a trillion different kinds nowadays. I stood there for almost an hour trying to figure things out until finally a sales person comes up and asks me if I need help. So now I am the proud owner of some ski wax spray on style. Seems like the skis goes 10 inch forward 12 inch back none the less though.

Took a day trip to Åre this friday (skipped the religious aspects altogether). It´s such a beautiful place! Even though it´s growing by the minute and Audi always presents their latest and most expensive drool-o-rama vehicle at the town square. Nowadays Åre is connecting with the other little villages around that region so you can go up one ski lift down on the other side and for more or less an entire day be in new ski slopes. It feels almost like Aspen (or how I imagine Aspen to be since I haven´t actually been there).

Had a Clam Chowder for lunch at Broken which wasn´t really a Clam Chowder but it was good enough.

I must say that I´m happy about Telias mobile broadband connector. I am in the middle of nowhere (basically) and I do get a fairly speedy connection. The only problem is that the USB-thingy is eating my battery like a mad man. So I´m partly mobile since I do need to be near electricity if I want to stay online for more than roughly 20 minutes.

Tomorrow I´m heading home again, hopefully passing a relative on the way that I haven´t seen in a long time and on wednesday I´ll be going to Gothenburg and hopefully meet up with Dave among other things. Might be a hectic 24 hours, but fun!

I saw this some place and got a flash back. It´s a cool idea. Is it really coated though? ;-)

Makes me wonder if it´s an adobe employees car! Ok, I am geeky.

I´m listening to The Mars Voltas latest The Bedlam in Goliath. The volume is set to whimp as opposed to 11. All my close friends are at the same party but me because I´ve got the flu.
Do I have to mention that I feel very sorry for myself?

I´m curious to see what Mark will come up with.

Each step a path

Last weekend when I was walking I ended up following the foot prints of someone. At one point the other foot prints ended. Dead in the track. What happened to the other person? Vanished into thin air? Looking back after a while it was hard do figure out who had been following who.

After much mocking around (I still feel stupid whenever I´m about to do something with code) I added more pages to 6ft5. I´m using this template to get some consistency in what I´m doing and the overall look.

Now I try to find out how WordPress will allow me to link to external pages in the header (right now it seems impossible) and that sort of breaks the navigation if you´re coming from 6ft5 to the blog (and vice versa). There´s always something, isn´t it? I could make pages and link to them in the header but I want a webpage that stands on its own feet and have the blog as a complement. More to come…

The idea is to have a place to show some of my photos and perhaps attract a client or two.

The picture above is from Chiang Mai, Thailand. I was there at christmas time and among other things I visited Kids Future who´s an organization who on a volunteer basis helps kids in need. Thailand has a lot of kids with no parents due to the AIDS-crisis. These people are amazing, raising money, building schools and are constantly coming up with ideas to help people in northern Thailand.
